Whoopi Goldberg Walks Off 'The View' During Foot Fetish Conversation
Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set of The View during a foot fetish conversation.
On Tuesday (Jan. 9), the legendary actress discussed a recent Guardian advice column regarding feet. Goldberg explained that an anonymous husband asked for help with his wife. The man stated that his wife stopped allowing him to give her foot massages after he admitted he had a foot fetish. Whoopi, looking clearly displeased, then asked her co-hosts what they thought of the matter.
“You have to entertain your partner’s kink, within reason,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said. The Sister Act entertainer then looked disgusted and walked away from the table. “Excuse me for a second. Keep talking!” the 68-year-old said. “Whoopi has left the building,” Farah Griffin responded.
Whoopi could be seen giving a staff member something off-camera. While it wasn’t mentioned what she handed off, the actress walked back and deadpanned at the audience. The View hosts ignored her actions and continued to speak about the man’s foot predicament.
“You know, not to brag, but my feet have created foot fetishes out there, so I can’t really respond to this because I feel that I’m responsible for the fetishes,” Joy Behar bragged as she talked about her feet.
Behar then shifted gears and asked Whoopi why she abruptly walked off the set. Goldberg responded sarcastically, claiming to have to catch her breath due to the conversation. “I was so enamored by what you were saying that I felt that I needed to take a breath so I could just get myself together, so I could come back to the table! So, I just got up and walked away and just got myself together!”
“This is what my feet do to people,” Behar quipped. Goldberg then shot back, “This is what this conversation does to people. It makes them get up and move. I don’t care ’cause my feet are huge, and no one wants to touch them!”
This isn’t the first time that Whoopi has left the set mid-conversation. In July 2023, the Sarafina actress walked away from the set after her co-hosts argued over Miranda Lambert’s decision to stop her concert. Lambert paused her show at the time to reprimand audience members for taking pictures during her show.
Goldberg agreed with Lambert and stated that fans should be enjoying the show, not causing distractions. She also asserted that fans should have more respect for entertainers. After her co-host Sunny Hostin disagreed, Whoopi became visibly annoyed and walked away. “I’m leaving, y’all!” she said, exiting the stage.
